Affiliate Program Terms

These terms apply to anyone who joins the SUMO Sites Affiliate Program (“you”, “the Affiliate”). The program is run by CI Media Ltd, trading as SUMO Sites (“SUMO Sites”, “we”, “us”). By applying to or taking part in the program, you agree to these terms.

1. The Programs

  • Public / Influencer Program: open to anyone who applies and is approved.
  • Agency / Private Program: invite-only, for marketing agencies and similar partners. We decide who is invited.

We may approve or decline any application, and we may move an Affiliate between programs, at our discretion.

2. Commissions

  • Public / Influencer Program: 15% of the monthly subscription payment of each referred customer, for up to the first 24 monthly payments.
  • Agency / Private Program: a one-time bounty equal to the referred customer's first 2 monthly subscription payments.

Commission is calculated on the monthly subscription payment of the customer's plan only, and only on payments we actually receive. It is not paid on taxes, one-time add-on fees, payment-processing fees, cancellation or early-termination fees, or maintenance payments after the first 24 months.

A referral counts only if the customer is new to SUMO Sites and signs up through your tracked link or coupon code.

3. Tracking and Attribution

  • You receive a unique tracking link and, optionally, a coupon code. A referral is tracked with a 90-day cookie.
  • Attribution is last-touch: if a visitor uses more than one affiliate's link within the cookie window, the most recent one is credited.
  • Tracking relies on third-party software and on the visitor's browser, so it can be affected by cookie clearing, blockers or switching devices. We cannot guarantee that every referral will be tracked. Where there is a dispute, our records decide.

4. Payouts

  • Each commission is held for 30 days after the referred customer's payment. Once that approval period has passed, and the payment has not been refunded or charged back, the commission is approved.
  • Approved commissions are paid monthly on the 15th, in US dollars, by PayPal or Wise.
  • The minimum payout is $100. A smaller balance carries over to the next month.
  • Commission becomes payable only once the referred customer's payment has cleared and the approval period above has passed. We may also delay a payout while a payment is disputed.
  • You are responsible for giving us valid payout details.

5. Refunds, Cancellations and Chargebacks

No commission is paid on a payment that is refunded, charged back or not received. If we have already paid you commission on a payment that is later refunded or charged back, we may deduct that amount from your future payouts. If a customer cancels, no commission is paid on payments they do not make.

6. Program Rules

  • No brand bidding. Do not bid on “SUMO Sites” or confusingly similar terms in paid search or advertising, or register domain names or social handles that use our name.
  • No spam. Do not send unsolicited bulk email or messages, or post spam in comments or forums.
  • No self-referrals. You cannot earn commission on your own purchase, or on a business you own or control.
  • Clear disclosure. Make it clear that you may earn a commission, as required by the laws and guidance that apply to you (for example the US Federal Trade Commission's endorsement guidance and UK advertising rules).
  • Honest claims. Do not make false or misleading statements about SUMO Sites, our prices or what our service delivers. Do not suggest you work for us, and use our name and logo only as set out in the assets we provide.
  • Follow all laws that apply to your promotion.

7. Taxes

You are responsible for any taxes due on the commissions you earn. We may ask for tax details before paying you where the law requires it.

8. Changes and Ending the Program

  • We may change these terms, the commission structure or the program at any time by posting the update on this page or telling you through your affiliate dashboard. If you keep promoting after a change, you accept it.
  • You can stop taking part at any time. We can suspend or end your participation at any time, and immediately if you break these terms.
  • Commissions already earned on valid referrals before your participation ends are still paid, subject to section 5. We may withhold commission we reasonably believe came from a breach of these terms.

9. Your Relationship With Us

You are an independent promoter. These terms do not create an employment, partnership or agency relationship, and you cannot make promises or sign contracts on our behalf. We do not guarantee that you will earn any commission, or that the program will always be available.

10. Your Data

We handle personal information as described in our Privacy Policy.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
